I am in Bali. I have to keep telling myself that I A M I N B A L I because I can't quite believe it yet. My first impressions of Bali were mixed. After a delayed flight and one hour of waiting for my luggage I stepped out in the arrival hall and was overwhelmed. About 200 men with signs waiting to pick someone up, a huge Buddha behind them, loud music everywhere, people yelling at me "you need transportation??" then a truely crazy taxi ride (I'd be way too scared to drive in Bali). It all reminded me of 'eat, pray, love' when Julia Roberts arrived in Bali but I guess that's what everybody thinks about their first minutes in Bali.
After arriving at my (let's say) not so great accomodation in Kuta, a short night and a swim in the pool on the next morning, a driver took me to Ubud where I'll stay for the rest of my trip. The only thing I keep constantly thinking is 'I found paradise'. Have a look at my first impressions of Bali.
